ERTRAC at the Austrian Presidency Conference on European Technology Platforms (ETP)
ERTRAC was very well represented at this high-level conference in Vienna where 500 participants discussed the strategically important issues of European Technology Platforms.
The European Commissioner for Science and Research Janez Potocnik held a speech on "New ways to drive demand for new technologies".
In the plenary session ERTRAC Vice-chairman Helmut List (AVL) presented the industry's expectations about ETPs. He requested that ETPs involve all relevant stakeholders and mentioned that ETPs research agendas must not only focus on breakthrough technologies but in parallel concentrate on incremental research topics.
ERTRAC Chairman Rudi Kunze stressed the issue of competitiveness in the global automotive industry and mentioned that ETPs should support the provision of faster, more efficient and more economic solutions for the industry.
At the ERTRAC stand with posters, brochures, CD-ROMs and other dissemination material, the platform was presented and also the TRA conference was promoted.
