CENTREe activities in the spotlight (#1): mapping today’s trends in RTR

Among other activities, the new CENTREe Project will look at where RTR and technology stand today, what research will be needed in the future, and how Europe can improve conditions for innovation. More specifically, CENTREe is tasked with:

1. Mapping of the latest developments in urban zero-emission mobility, air quality, road safety and long-haul freight transport
2. Identifying future research needs, emerging priorities and gaps where further action is needed
3. Exploring the role of digitalisation and artificial intelligence in future road transport applications
4. Assessing Europe’s research and testing infrastructure and identifying opportunities to strengthen it

Over the coming months and years, CENTREe will turn these activities into new research insights, collecting stakeholder perspectives and producing recommendations for the future of RTR and innovation.
