CENTREe

CENTREe sets out to transform and further develop Europe’s road transport research and innovation ecosystem into a globally competitive, digitally empowered and sustainability-driven landscape.

Building on the legacy of FOSTER-ROAD (2013-2016), FUTURE-RADAR (2017-2020), FUTURE-HORIZON (2021-2023), and STREnGth_M (2023-2026), CENTREe will ensure a robust and innovative approach to tackling contemporary challenges in road mobility by:

  • Improving strategies for research, innovation, and deployment to advance economic growth, technological leadership, sustainability and environmental goals, regulatory alignment, and energy resilience
  • Enhancing digital capabilities for sustainable mobility
  • Expanding the existing stakeholder community and strengthening co-creation and collaboration across the sector
  • Bolstering international collaboration across Africa, Asia, and North and Latin America, and developing replication strategies
  • Identifying and validating new education, training and (re-)skilling pathways
  • Establishing knowledge sharing mechanisms that bridge policymakers, industry, and researchers

CENTREe (Competitiveness of the EuropeaN Road Transport Research Ecosystem) is a three-year Horizon Europe project uniting 15 partners from 8 EU Member States.
