Working Group on Digitalisation

A new Working Group of ERTRAC on Digitalisation has been set up at the end of 2025. About 40 experts have been gathered from industry, R&D providers and universities. The goal of this new Working Group is to address the integration of digital technologies into the automotive and road transport sector, including aspects such as AI, Software-Defined-Vehicles, data management, cyber-security, resilience, etc.

The Digitalisation trend is very key for the future competitiveness of the European industry and economy, and for an improved efficiency of the transport system. It goes across sectors, requiring different communities to develop solutions together: it opens new ways of innovation towards potential new eco-systems.

The newly established Working Group has started its activities by gathering input from the experts and is now working on structuring that input. Its objective is to present a Roadmap of R&D needs during 2026.
