ERTRAC Annual Conference 2025: Thank You for Joining Us on the Road to FP10
On 1 July 2025, ERTRAC welcomed more than 150 participants at the Palais des Académies in Brussels for its Annual Conference 2025.
This year's conference marked an important milestone on the way towards the next EU Research Framework Programme, FP10, as stakeholders gathered to exchange views and priorities for European road transport research in the 2028–2035 timeframe.
The conference kicked off with a speech from Andrea Gentili (European Commission DG RTD) and Stephan Neugebauer (ERTRAC Chairman, BMW Group), presenting the proposal for an Automotive Partnership within the next European budget.
Throughout the day, guest speakers and industry and research experts from the ERTRAC community presented key topics for the future R&D efforts. The programme featured keynote speeches and panel discussions on:
• Energy & Environment
• Circularity and Competitiveness
• Urban Mobility
• Long-Distance Freight Transport
• Road Safety
• Connectivity and Automation
Pierfrancesco Maran, Member of the European Parliament, gave the introductory speech to the session on Connectivity and Automation, stressing how automated driving has the strong potential to transform our mobility system with new technologies and new services.
